Inbound marketing starts with content. A blog is the single best way to attract new visitors to your website. In order to get found by the right prospective customers, you must create educational content that speaks to them and answers their questions.

Content marketing is a marketing strategy in which a company specifically develops content (i.e. blog posts, social media posts, white papers, newsletters, eBooks, etc.) that people will find valuable and want to consume. Inbound marketing, on the other hand, is a larger marketing strategy – one that focuses on different tactics to draw consumers in and convince them to buy. Inbound marketing includes almost every type of marketing, including content marketing.

How Is Content Marketing Different Than Inbound Marketing?

We believe that content marketing is part of the inbound marketing process. Content marketing is going to attract customers to your website, but this is where content marketing stops. Your inbound marketing strategy continues after the content is created. In fact, inbound marketing is just getting started.

Now you use another tool, part of the inbound process, marketing automation to automatically follow up with your new lead. Your inbound marketing campaign continues to nurture this lead until they list their home with your real estate brokerage.The main difference here is content marketing is just part of the overall inbound marketing process. If you are only doing content marketing, you are off to a great start. However, you are not capturing leads and nurturing these leads to paying customers.

Content marketing is the first step in the inbound marketing methodology.
